Heather Hsiao provides comprehensive legal expertise ranging from labor and employment to complex litigation and corporate support, including regulatory compliance and restructuring. She has a proven track record of successfully navigating complex legal landscapes for both local and international clients. Heather is a sought-after speaker, frequently addressing local and international audiences on critical legal issues, including the nuances of employment for foreign professionals in Taiwan.
Extensive experience in labor relations has seen Heather assist several major enterprises in building stable workplace environments and pre-empting complex disputes. Most notably, she represented a foreign technology company during a significant layoff in Taiwan, effectively managing the situation despite open and hostile threats from affected employees.
Heather also represented a foreign citizen pro bono in a criminal matter, successfully reducing the defendant's sentence. When the case was appealed to the Supreme Court, her defense was adopted, leading to a landmark judgment that redefined the "investigation period" in criminal procedures.
She is an active member of the Taiwan Bar Association's Immigration Law Committee. In this capacity she collaborates with her peers to advance the public’s understanding of Taiwan’s labor laws for foreign professionals and guides international investors to comply with local regulations.
In addition to her legal practice, Heather regularly contributes to various publications, having published articles in the Taiwan Bar Journal, TOPICS, and Wolters Kluwer. She has headlined prominent events such as Wind Energy Asia in Kaohsiung and is frequently sought after by local media for her expert opinions on various legal issues.
