Paul has represented U.S., European and other multinational companies conducting business in the Asia-Pacific region for the past 30 years. His clients are active in many sectors, ranging from electronics, chemicals, energy, engineering and industrial manufacturing to pharmaceuticals, consumer products, financial services, real estate and motion picture production.
In addition to his professional practice, Paul has been an active member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Taipei for the past 25 years. He served as AmCham’s chairman in 1999-2000. More recently, as chairman of AmCham’s government relations committee, he has guided the development and articulation of AmCham’s policy positions on issues affecting U.S./Taiwan economic relations, including Taiwan’s accession to the WTO and the Government Procurement Agreement, the resumption of bilateral trade talks, negotiation of bilateral investment and transparency agreements, the Trans-Pacific Partnership and other significant issues.
Paul has over 50 articles, speeches, and television and radio appearances to his credit on topics related to foreign investment and U.S.-Taiwan political and economic relations. He also formerly hosted Business Review, a television talk show on Taiwan’s USTV, ch.4.
