ECCT IPR Committee Hosts IP Court President Kao Hsiow-Jen, Jan. 13, in Taipei

On Jan. 13, 2009, Eiger Law partner John Eastwood chaired a session of the European Chamber of Commerce in Taipei (ECCT) IPR Committee featuring special guest speaker Kao Hsiow-Jen, the president of Taiwan’s new IP Court and an experienced judge with more than 30 years with the Judicial Yuan. In her presentation, President Kao talked about the structure and caseload of the court, as well as the technical experts assigned to the court. Following her presentation, President Kao took questions from the audience of ECCT members. It was a very rare opportunity to hear from a key Judicial Yuan official on topics of major interest.
